Irish writer Mark O’Rowe (Perrier’s Bounty, Intermission, Boy A) adapts the high octane, life affirming and riotously careering debut novel by Rowan Somerville; a young, down at heel Irish journalist finds himself mixed up with the Cairo underworld leading to a comic existential journey. A pinch of Graham Greene with lashings of The Long Goodbye and a teaspoon of The Maltese Falcon for good measure. Developed with the assistance of the BFI and the Irish Film Board/Bord Scannán na hÉireann, this is a co-production with Parallel Films.
