The first stills from Number 9 Films’ current production Great Expectations have just been released. Helena Bonham Carter looks magnificent as the damaged jilted bride Miss Havisham, playing the part much closer to the character’s real age than in any other film version, and Jeremy Irvine smoulders as the story’s young hero Pip, the recipient and victim of the titular “Great Expectations”.
