Made in Dagenham won three Hitchcock awards at the 21st Dinard British Film Festival. Under the French distribution title of “We Want Sex” the film scooped the audience award, the Silver Hitchock, the Hichcock Bleu for best screenplay for writer Billy Ivory, and shared the Grand Jury prize for best film, the Golden Hitchcock, with Jamie Thraves’ micro budget feature Treacle Jr.
Producers Elizabeth Karlsen and Stephen Woolley attended the festival, which they described as “the Toronto of northern Europe”, and were delighted with the French audience’s response to the film, which distributor ARP will open in France on March 9th, the day after International Women’s Day.
